Pretty as they come, Georgia is a fabulous Lab mix pup who has a gentle spirit and a heart of gold. Georgia is looking for a secure family, with a yard, who have had some experience with a large breed puppy, who will get her puppy classes so that she can be a well mannered girl, someone who can go through the highs and lows of puppyhood, teenage dog hood, and will care for her through old age. She will need structure, guidance and love to be the best adult dog she can be.This sweety just wants to be treasured.

Addison is a very affectionate Chi/Terrier mix. She is 2 and one half years old and weighs approximately 19 lbs. She is a wonderful companion dog. She loves to go for walks, relax in the sun, and curl up next to you. She is house trained and uses a doggie door. She will bark to alert but is NOT yappy. She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and has a microchip. If you are looking for a great, sweet dog to share your life, come to CARE and ask for Addison (Addie).

Alice is one of the most gentle, kindest, calmest puppies you will ever meet. She loves her foster brothers, adores children and respects her kitty sister. She is working on her crate training and potty training. She can be a little shy at first with grown ups but is so sweet, you can not help but fall in love with her.

Meet pretty little Bailey! She is a charming, tiny little thing who knows that her place is on her person's lap and she's very soft, so it is no hardship when you "have" to pet her! :-) She sleeps in a crate (although she'd prefer to sleep with you), loves walks on a leash, gets along with other dogs just fine. Children over 10 would be fine. We don't know about her opinion of cats, but as small as she is, there would probably be no issue. Housetrained, spayed, microchipped, current on shots. No health or behavioral issues that we know of.

Bebe is a very petite Yorkshire Terrier mixed spayed female. She is a fun little girl, that LOVES her people. She would love to be your best buddy and likes lap sitting and playing with her person. She is fine with other dogs, ignores cats, and is house trained in her foster home. She is good on a leash and is crate trained. Bebe would do best in an adult only home or a home with no small children.

Bonni will next be at the June 22nd Adoption Fair Bonni is such a tiny, adorable girl. It is impossible to imagine her living out in the streets where she was found with her sister and brother. She is timid, but warms up once she understands she can trust you. She will need to be with someone patient in her forever home, someone who can show her love, and assure her she is safe. Ideally, she will be adopted together with her sister, Emma, with whom she is bonded. She has gone from "Bonni" to "bon-bon" for short (which seems fitting for this tiny little sweetie?!)

Buddy is an adorable little Terrier mix. He is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs approximately 7 lbs, He loves to cuddle and he gets along great with the other foster dogs (53 lb male and 19 lb female) in the home. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and has a microchip. Uses a doggy door. Crate trained.

Meet Cadel. Companion Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) saved him just in time and he is Zoom Room Campbell's first official foster. He is a 2 year old (+/-) neutered border collie mix who loves, loves, loves people and kids. In fact, when someone walks by, he will call them back with a friendly bark to say, 'please pet me!' He is house trained and happily sleeps in his crate. An awesome addition to some lucky family who understands what it means to own this type of breed. We recommend a training class and continued socialization with kids, cats and... strangers to make him the best dog he can be.

Chai was 6 weeks old when he was abandoned on the side of a road in Los Banos. He has now joined the ranks of thousands upon thousands of Chihuahua types who are without a home and loving family to treasure them. Chihuahuas are closing the gap with Pit Bulls to be the number 1 dog to be routinely euthanized at local shelters. They are also one of the most noticed street dog in many communities as people just open their doors and let these dogs go or move on without them. The saddest thing to me is what this means to these little guys. Chihuahuas have the most empathy for pain and suffering and give love with every fiber of their bodies. They were used as heating pads and emotional support by the ancients in Mexico. They are funny, fiercely loyal, giving of spirit and unconditional love. And yet they are thought of as little yappers and unworthy. Chai is not a yapper but he will let you know that someone is at the door. Chihuahuas are being used for Hospice patients (children and adults). You should watch the miracle of the comfort they give. Chihuahuas "accept" the situation, they do not judge,nor do they care if someone is bald, stinky, sick, or dying. They do not try to change the situation. They just give the warmth of their bodies and the love of their souls.
Chai is a cutie-pie and a sweetie who loves everyone. Chai has unique Dapple coloring and very pretty grey eyes that can melt your heart. This happy boy is looking for that forever home with stable, loving and secure people who will treasure him for the rest of his life. GOT LOTS OF DOG EXPERIENCE??
Chile is a beautiful, 2-year-old, long-haired Chihuahua who was raised with minimal people interaction. People are okay, but he doesn't really know how to ask for affection. It will be important to be very calm and patient with him.
Chill has come a long way in the past few months. He now understands household routines fairly well and has a good time socializing with the other dogs in the household. He seems fairly happy and playful, loves toys, and even likes walks. He is learning to come to a person when he wants attention. He is definitely more interested in the world going on around him: it could be fun! He now greets people with a wave of his tail and a wiggle and doesn't seem concerned at all when a stranger holds him.
The person who adopts Chile should have a fairly quiet household. (He worries about too much change.) At this time, we think a one-person household would be best. Visitors he could deal with, but may be happier in his crate. Other dogs would be good - especially small females.
He is neutered, current on shots, generally healthy, housebroken if taken out regularly, microchipped and it is registered.

Chloe is 8 years young.She is sweet, gentle,loving and calm She came to CARE when she was 6 months old from the shelter. CARE adopted her to a husband and wife. They moved to Texas and after 5 years they ended up in a divorce. Long story short, Chloe was driven back to San Jose when she came back into CARE. 2 years ago she was placed again in a loving home with a lady that loved her dearly. unfortunatly the lady passed away and the ladies brother brought her to the local shelter without letting CARE know of the ladies passing. CARE was notified by the shelter that Chloe was there. We went to pick her up to keep her safe. She is now looking for her forever home to give love and companionship too. She would do better in a quiet household without dogs that are bouncy. Chloe is 10-12 lbs. She could lose a little weight.

Emma will next be at the June 22nd Adoption Fair Emma is such a beautiful girl. She is playful and affectionate and has soulful eyes full of hope. She's a little girl of about 6-7 pounds. She was off to a rough start, living as a stray with her brother and sister. She is thriving in a safe envrironment and will only get better and more beautiful. All three had terrible matting in their fur and had to have most of their hair cut way back. It will grow in beautifully. Ideally, Emma will be adopted together with her sister, Bonni, with whom she is bonded.

She is playful, loving and will make you smile all the time.She will burrow in your lap or a warm blanket, she is a big love bug for sure. She is not a timid, yappy or nippy chihuahua. Meet Marvelous Millie! She is a mature gal with a mature gals's figure :) She is on a diet to shed a few pounds and would be great to take on walks in the beautiful summer weather. Millie is a spayed female that gets along great with other dogs. She is doing great in the house and is being crate trained. She is fantastic with other dogs and people. She has just come in from Merced shelter and the staff could not say enough nice things about this special girl. They said she is loving, sweet, gentle and calm. She loves everyone she meets.

Noble will make an excellent family dog! Perfect for walks, hikes, runs, playing fetch in the yard, going to doggie parks and sleeping by your feet. Noble has a soft brindle coat,is affectionate and loyal! Noble knows some of his basic commands but we still recommend a training class and continued socialization with kids, cats and... strangers to make him the best dog he can be.

*Mama* Poppy is a 2 yr old spayed female Fox Terrier mix. Poppy came to CARE pregnant and had 5 lovely babies that have all gone on to their new homes. Poppy can be a little shy, but does get friendly really fast. She likes other dogs, and really loves her people, once she gets to know them. Poppy is potty trained, good in a crate, is walking on a leash and loves to play with toys. Poppy lives in a foster home with 5 cats, but is not a cat loving dog. She likes to make them run, but if called off, is very good about stopping the chase

Shadow is a very lovely, well socialized BIG Boy. He is just a year old and could benefit from being in an active home. He is great with other dogs, and love, love, loves people. He is a very strong boy and needs a lot of exercise. He loves to run or jog with his person(s). He is a big lunk, with a very sweet personality. He is good with kids, but due to his large size, it is best he is in a home with older children or adults only. He loves to play with other like sized doggies, and is social with smaller dogs.

Stryker is 2 years old and is a bundle of love. He is about 64 Lbs. He is not as tall as he is solid. He came from Merced County and is doing well adjusting to city life. He is learning to ride in a car and looking at the beautiful sites. He is crate trained and housebroken. He is great with any size dog and cats. He has made a tiny friend- a 6 lbs chi. He is very mellow and calm. He likes to go on walks and smell the flowers of summer. If you are looking for a very special boy, this might be the perfect match for you. I named him Stryker because he is very striking to look at- a very beautiful boy inside and out.

Willow was abandon on some property in merced with several other dogs. They were left to find food, water,shelter and to keep themselves safe. Their shelter was a pile of wood . We took the other dogs that were on the property they were Timber, Ash, Cedar, Elmo, Cherry and Hickory and Willow was the last one to come into CARE. She is about 2 years old and is about 35 lbs. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She is becoming a happy and playful girl once again. She is great with other dogs and cats. She was a little shy about coming in the house when I got her, but now runs in excited to be in with people that give her love and attention.
